Everton women continued their fine start to the season with a comfortable 3-1 win over Tottenham Hotspur women at Southport, in the Women’s Super League.

There was early joy for Everton when Molly Pike struck from close-range, but it didn’t take long for Tottenham to level it back up when Lucy Quinn cheekily tackled keeper Tinja-Riikka Korpela to score.

The first half continued to entertain, as Everton once again took the lead when Spurs goalkeeper Becky Spencer failed to catch the ball at a corner, resulting in an Anna Filbey own goal.

The Toffees then put the came to bed after half-time when Lucy Graham fired in from 20 yards to make the game 3-1.

Everton continued to press throughout the game but couldn’t find more joy infront of goal.

Tottenham’s only shot on target came when Korfela’s mistake gifted them a goal.

Everton will now look ahead to the huge game against Chelsea next week, where they could find themselves as far up in the league as 2nd if they were to win.
