Liverpool fighter Paddy Pimblett is set to return to the cage on November 22nd at Cage Warriors 111 when he faces fellow lightweight Donovan Desmae.
The fight will end a 15-month hiatus for the former Cage Warriors featherweight champion (14-3) after a hand injury has stopped him from competing in 2019 so far.
He was scheduled to fight Desmae (12-5) last December before pulling out due to injury, with the fight due to take at O2’s Indigo in London.
Pimblett’s last fight saw him lose a decision to Soren Bak for the vacant Cage Warriors lightweight title in front of his home fans at the M&S Bank Arena.
The fight with Desmae is vital for Pimblett to bounce back and once again establish himself as next in line for a title opportunity.
He announced the fight news on ESPN’s radio talk show with Ariel Helwani and when asked about his critics, he said: “I add them as fuel to the fire but it doesn’t bother me at all.”
The CW111 card on Friday, November 22nd will be topped by two World Championship fights, with current champions James Webb and Mads Burnell both defending their titles.
