Roger Federer has reached yet another career milestone, this Monday at the Swiss Indoors in Basel.
It was his 1500th career match on the ATP Tour. The Swiss beat German qualifier, Peter Gojowczyk 6-2 6-1.
He advances to the round of 16, where he will play against.
The 20-time Grand Slam champion will be looking to defend the title, as well as winning Basel for the tenth time, which would be another historic achievement.
This tournament has a special place in Federer’s heart, as he was once a ball boy at this tournament between 1993 and 1994.
Federer’s quest for his tenth Basel title continues later in the week. He will face either Radu Albot or Dusan Lajovic.
