North West sides were victorious in the opening round of matches in the Betfred Super League.
Defending champions St Helens defeated Catalans Dragons 28-8 in a repeat of last year’s grand final.
The reigning champions looked just that, and after just one round they look like the team to beat.
Next up for the Saints is a trip to the KC Stadium to face Hull FC.
Despite the Airlie birds’ victory over Wakefield in round one, Kristin Wolff’s men should have more than enough to make it two wins from two.

Wigan Warriors
Wigan followed in St Helens’ footsteps with a 24-10 victory over Hull KR at Craven Park in Matt Peet’s first game as head coach.
Jai Field brought a new lease of life to the Warriors with an excellent solo try.
Liam Marshall, Zak Hardaker and Jake Bibby opened their Super League accounts to cap off an excellent start for Wigan.
Next up is the 2020 Challenge Cup winners, Leeds Rhinos, who will be without suspended Brad Dwyer and James Bentley.
🙌 Scrums are back for 2022, and they certainly worked in favour of Jai Field last night!

Warrington Wolves
Daryl Powell started his Warrington reign off as well as he could have hoped with a 22-20 win over the Leeds Rhinos.
The Wolves were helped massively with an early dismissal for Rhinos’ debutant James Bentley.
Clinical finishing on the overlap from Josh Charnley, Gareth Widdop and Connor Wrench was too much for the Rhinos to cope with.
Daryl Powell will face his former side on Thursday, as the Wolves take on Castleford at the Halliwell Jones Stadium.
The first @SuperLeague try scored on @Channel4 was pretty special. 😍#C4League | #SuperLeague pic.twitter.com/w2iPG4gwiI
