Liverpool’s Adam Cullen will be making the jump to welterweight for Cage Warriors 146 in Manchester in November.
The undefeated fighter had previously told Mersey Sport Live about his frustration at not being able to find an opponent. Now, it appears that Cage Warriors has failed to find Cullen an opponent at 155lbs, prompting the jump to welterweight.
Cullen has been paired with French Cage Warriors welterweight Martin Cuasse. The 170lb’er is currently 3-2 and looking to pick up his first win for the European promotion.
After Leicester-based Marcus Mee pulled out of his bout with Causse, he and Cullen were both desperate for an opponent. Cullen agreeing to fight Causse leaves the Scouser with another French opponent which he seems to relish.
This will be new territory for Cullen as he has previously only fought at lightweight in his professional career.
Cullen told Mersey Sport Live: “I’m happy to get a fight in Manchester, Cage Warriors couldn’t find me a lightweight fight because they are all terrified of the beating I’d put on them.”

Cullen added he is ready for whatever comes his way: “I’m looking forward to living up to my status of king of French MMA by putting on another clinic against a Frenchman.
“I can’t wait for the parade they put on for me in Paris after this one!”
A step up in weight for Cullen against an opponent hungry for a win sets up a fight not to be missed.
