Duncan Ferguson has been sacked by Scottish League One side Inverness.

The former Everton striker was appointed in September of last year but has seen the club relegated from the Scottish Championship, and now sit bottom of League One.

This season the Scot has managed to secure two victories, six draws and two losses, but because of the 15-point deduction the club are last in the league with a points tally of minus three. They received the points deduction as a result of going into administration.

At one point, Ferguson agreed to do his job without pay in support of the club’s struggles. The club was left needing to raise up to £200,000 to keep them from falling into administration but fell short, despite the support of an online fundraising campaign that raised £87,000.

In total the club has reported a loss of over a million pounds last season with the expectation of this figure rising this year. not helped by the collapse of a potential takeover.

The club, formed 30 years ago, is relying on administrators to find a new buyer.

Ferguson has had a rocky start to his managerial career so far at Forrest Green, Inverness and Everton as a caretaker manager. He has only managed to rack up a 29.3% win rate in 58 games.
