Wheelchair Rugby League has turned Paul Prince’s life around after joining the Warrington Wolves in 2021.

Prince, from Warrington, lost his right leg after suffering from the life-threatening condition Sepsis, an infection that occurs when the body’s immune system overreacts to an infection or injury.

The Warrington captain said: “Playing the sport has made me feel wanted, to have been given a purpose and to feel included.”

The Warrington Wolves charitable Foundation was set up in 2005, with its first disability Rugby League game played in 2018. They were relegated from Super League last season.

Wheelchair Rugby League and Union is on the rise in Merseyside and the North West.
