Tranmere Rovers must pickup where they left off as they face Cheltenham Town tonight (Friday).

Their last home game was postponed because of international commitments of players from their opponents Fleetwood Town.

It halted the momentum of two successive victories against Newport and Stockport County after a three game losing streak. Out of form Fleetwood side had only one win in their last seven.

Nigel Adkins now has the task of ensuring his team kick on after the break.

“When the Wimbledon game was called off we had an excellent start to the season with a great win away at Carlisle on the Saturday, we just have to adapt to it. We put in a real good performance the following game against Gillingham but we unfortunately lost the game.

“That’s the reality of it. What we have done is try to utilise the time the best we can. Camaraderie is important as far as I’m concerned, standards everyone id working hard, and we have tried to utilise our time well.”

Now, Adkins’ side look ahead to tonight’s trip to Gloucester as they face 17th placed Cheltenham Town.

Town sit just one point ahead of Tranmere, but the Birkenhead based side have two games in hand over their hosts.

A Tranmere would take them up to 15th before games are played over the weekend.

Midfielders Brad Walker, Regan Hendry and Saidou Khan are all unavailable.

Khan featured for Gambia against Madagascar over the international break, playing a 45 minute stint which caused his injury.

Brad Walker is suffering from a hamstring problem and is not in contention for the game.

Hendry picked up an injury against Newport and it looks set to miss a busy December.

The Tranmere Manager is hoping Walker and Khan will both feature during December’s hectic calendar of games.

Tonight’s fixture marks the first of eight for Tranmere before the end of the calendar year, but manager Adkins insists his side are looking ahead only to the next game.

“We have got a real busy schedule of games, but as we always do, it’s look at the next game. Our intent is always to win the next game.

“You have to look at the big picture and break it down and what can we do to prepare for the next game, and the next game is Cheltenham.”

The Robins come into this game Following a 3-2 loss away to MK Dons last Saturday.

The result ended The Reds’ seven game unbeaten run, including five wins and an FA Cup first round victory over League One Rotherham United.

Rovers will look to continue their winning form on the road and leapfrog their opponents in their return to action.
