Everton will induct four new Everton “Giants” at Goodison Park when they face Manchester United on Saturday.
Andy Gray, Derek Mountfield, Kevin Sheedy and Paul Bracewell were all part of Everton’s most successful team in history, during the 1984/85 season.
The team won the league title, the Charity Shield, Everton’s first European trophy, and even beat rivals Liverpool three times.
Gray and Mountfield were also part of the line-up that won the FA Cup in 1984.
This will be the first time since the official Everton Hall of Fame was created in 1999 that so many players have been inducted at once.
The Everton Giant’s status is regarded as an honour and came about when a panel of Evertonians met over a three month period to select a Giant from every decade of the 20th Century.
All four will be present to receive their honorary status on the pitch at half-time against Manchester United.
The Giants will also receive an engraved stone which will be laid in the Everton Way at their new stadium.
The Everton Way is a walkway made up of 36,000 personalised granite stones.
The players themselves are due to receive replica stones at half-time.
Pin badges of the new Giants will be available at the Fan Zone and around the Holy Trinity statue before kick-off.
Andy Gray
Gray joined Everton in November 1983 for £250,000 and spent two seasons with the club.
He scored in the 1984 FA Cup final against Watford in controversial fashion by heading the ball out of the keeper’s hands.
He also scored in the final of the European Cup Winner’s Cup a year later, as Everton went on to win.
Gray left Everton after the arrival of Gary Lineker in 1985.
Derek Mountfield

Liverpool-born Mountfield joined Everton from his local club Tranmere Rovers prior to the 1982-83 season.
Forming a defensive partnership with Kevin Ratcliffe, he also helped the club to several trophies.
Mountfield scored an average of one goal every 5.6 matches for Everton.
Kevin Sheedy
Sheedy spent the majority of his career at Everton, with whom he won the FA Cup, European Cup Winner’s Cup, and two league titles.
He made 357 appearances for the club and scored 97 goals.
In the 1980s, Sheedy scored the most free-kicks in the top flight of the English football league.

Paul Bracewell
It was at Goodison Park that Bracewell had the most successful spell of his career, as part of a crucial midfield with Peter Reid, Kevin Sheedy, and Trevor Steven.
His Everton form prompted a call-up to the full England squad but he missed out on the 1986 World Cup squad with a broken leg.
