Former Liverpool and Everton forward Courtney Sweetman-Kirk has been named on the Football Black List.

The award was founded in 2008 by Leon Mann MBE and Rodney Hinds and celebrates the most influential black people in football.

Sweetman-Kirk, who is now a pundit for Sky Sports, was awarded alongside CBS presenter Kate Scott.

Arsenal’s Raheem Sterling and Aston Villa’s Tyrone Mings were also awarded in the “players – off the pitch” category.

A nominations list was created by the public before a panel of football experts voted on the winners.

The panel included members from the Premier League, Football Association, PGMOL, Kick It Out and Black community leaders.

Co-Founder Leon Mann MBE said: “The Football Black List is an example of a successful initiative that brings the Black community and football industry together.

“We firmly believe greater collaboration across the game will lead to an acceleration of progress in addressing the ongoing challenges football needs to address.

“It is encouraging to see more of this happening.”

Sweetman-Kirk made 48 appearances for both Everton and Liverpool in the Women’s Super League.

In 2018, she was Everton’s highest goal scorer with nine goals in all competitions in the Toffees’ return to the WSL.

Arsenal FC will host the main awards show on the 24th April.
