Liverpool side Prescot Cables have secured their place in next season’s Pitching In Norther Premier League Division after the heroics of John Murphy.
Late goals were key to securing the victory away to Gainsborough Trinity which means the club will survive a relegation scare with four games remaining of the season.
In the 85th minute, the visitors were awarded with a penalty which was dispatched by James Foley.
However, the real heroics came from number nine John Murphy whose 93rd minute winner secured the crucial three points.
With the win, relegation is mathematically impossible with Prescot now being 14 points clear with 12 left to play for, much to the delight of club staff and players.

The game was not without controversy as the refereeing performance left Gainsborough fuming, not least star player Lewis Butroid.
Fans of the home side argued the equalising penalty was incorrectly awarded and the red card decision against Bailey Conway was unfair, pointing out that Prescot committed an equal foul earlier in the fixture that was not given the same punishment.
Prescot will face Stockton Town next in their game on Saturday 12th April.
