Zach Wilson’s New York Jets struggled as the NFL made a return to London yesterday, with Atlanta Falcons running out 27-20 winners.
The second overall draft pick threw for 192 yards, 0 touchdowns and one interception as he and the Jets continue to look out of sorts in the regular season as they fall to 1-4 and bottom of the AFC East.
A crowd of more than 60,000 welcomed the Jets and Falcons to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium after a two-year exodus due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
The Falcons started brightly and found themselves 10-0 up after the first quarter with veteran Quarterback Matt Ryan finding Kyle Pitts in the end zone to score a 3-yard touchdown.
Wilson and the Jets struggled to find any rhythm on offence and by the end of the first half found themselves 20-3 down to the impressive Falcons.
In the second half however, the Jets looked to stage a comeback as Michael Carter and Ty Johnson managed to get the run game going and score rushing touchdowns.
But Ryan’s experience managed to get Atlanta over the line as they held out for a 27-20 win with Ryan throwing for 342 yards and two touchdowns.
