The Cheshire Phoenix have signed Maceo Jack from the NCAA Division 1 team, the Buffalo Bulls.
At 6’5, Jack plays guard and has had a successful college basketball career, playing for the George Washington Cardinals for four years and most recently, the Buffalo Bulls. Last season the New Yorker played and started in all 30 games, proving a crucial member of the team. Undrafted in the 2022 NBA Draft, his range of skills defensively alerted Phoenix.
Jack said: “I’m excited to be joining the team and I’m looking forward to helping the squad achieve success.”
Congratulations to @MaceoJack33 on signing with the @CheshireNix in England!

Last season the guard averaged 9.5 points per game, with an impressive 18 points and five rebounds against North Texas and an 18-point game against Rider which made him the MAC Player of the Week.
The American wants to use his offensive capabilities to help the squad, “For sure the strongest part of my game is my shooting ability. I know I can bring toughness and my will to win to make the team better.”
Moving from a Division 1 team in the NCAA to the BBL in England brings many changes, but Jack is confident he can adjust and play to the top of his ability.
“After spending time at Buffalo, I believe it helped prepare me for pro ball so I don’t think there will be too much of a change in my play style. I’m looking forward to this challenge and to showcase my skills.
He continued: “Considering the things I have learned in my years in college, I plan to bring the toughness and leadership I have gained over to England as I begin my pro career.”

The Phoenix are currently fifth in the BBL table on six points, winning three and losing five. Last weekend they faced the Bristol Flyers, who are in second place, at Ellesmere Port, narrowly losing 81-74. After the first eight games of the season the Cheshire team have the third worst point difference in the league, the addition of Jack at guard will make them stronger in defence as well as going forward.
Jack is relishing living in England and the new challenges that brings. “I’m looking forward to experiencing a new culture and everything that comes with it. But luckily, having lived in Buffalo I will be used to the cold weather!”
Cheshire’s next game is away against, the winless, Surrey Scorchers on October 29th. They will be looking to clinch their fourth win of the season. All eyes will be on their new recruit to see if he can make an impact.
