Matchroom Boxing ran their Trick or Train event at Everton Red Triangle that saw local kids train at the famous facility.
The evening was designed to provide an alternative to potential unhealthy and anti-social behaviours that can be associated with Halloween.
The campaign led by Matchroom head of community development Alex Le Guevel saw Liverpool boxers Peter McGrail and Joe McGrail, and coach Paul Stevenson run a session for around 40 children and teenagers who were put through their paces with a range of boxing drills.
Guevel told Mersey Sport Live: “What we are here to do is to advise that kids are better off in the gym, come down do something healthy, lead a healthy lifestyle.
“Trick and treating is great, but it involves sweets and unhealthy lifestyle, and sometimes it can come with anti-social behaviour”.

These events are part of a global campaign to get kids into boxing instead of potentially negative activities.
Matchroom are paving the way with similar campaigns including the Fight Day 5k, a five-kilometre run that takes place on the day of each major boxing event that have gained huge traction with hundreds of people in attendance.
Last week the House of Commons recognised the positive work Matchroom are doing in communities.
Boxing brothers Peter and Joe echoed the importance of Matchroom community events. Peter has been part of Everton Red Triangle since the age of 10 and has benefitted greatly from his local gym. He said: “It’s keeping youngsters off the streets so it’s great for the community. It’s not just our gym, we have got four or five gyms in a two mile radius.”
