Liverpool have progressed to the quarter-finals of the Women’s FA Cup after a late 2-0 win against Rugby Borough.
But Everton Women have been knocked out by Chelsea 4-1.
The Reds travelled to the Nationwide Windows Arena to face Rugby in the Round of 16 of the Women’s FA Cup.
Goals from Marie Hobinger and Mia Enderby in the 84th and 92nd minute sealed the late win for Liverpool.
Rugby goalkeeper Nyla Peterkin made crucial saves to deny the Women’s Super League side for most of the game.
Leanne Kiernan’s shot in the 81st minute ricocheted off the bar and bounced out of the goal.
Meanwhile, Everton exited the competition after their 4-1 defeat against WSL leaders Chelsea at Kingsmeadow.
Sara Holmgaard put the Toffees ahead in the 17th minute when she scored directly from a corner.
Despite an impressive start to the game, Everton were unable to stop Chelsea after conceding a penalty in the 35th minute.
Chelsea’s Macario, Ramirez, Hermano, and Baltimore solidified the win for the home side with their goals.
Everton conceded two penalties to Chelsea, which erased their early goal advantage.
Courtney Brosnan dove the right way for both penalties but was unable to keep either out as they went under her arm.
The Toffees showed signs of promise in the final stages with a chance in the 86th minute but it was too little too late against Sonia Bompastor’s side.
