Warrington Wolves CEO Karl Fitzpatrick said this is to commemorate Littler.
He said: “We wanted to recognise and celebrate one of Warrington’s favourite sons in Luke and do something to showcase Luke to the community.’’
The decision to rename the stadium after Littler was made by Fitzpatrick and his friend, Sky Sports presenter, Brian Carney.
Discussions took place with Halliwell Jones, and they were pleased to rename the stadium for the opening game.
Luke Littler won the 2025 PDC World Darts championship in January, as he became the youngest darts world champion.
Littler is a lifelong fan of Warrington Wolves and is a south stand member at the club.
The 18-year-old spoke to Warrington Wolves and said this is a dream for him.
He said: “It’s an absolute honour and I can’t thank the club enough.’’
Fitzpatrick said Littler’s success is something everyone can learn from.
“He is the living embodiment that ambition and dreams can come true.
“He’s been a fantastic example to people that if you are willing to commit, you can achieve something special in life.’’
Littler will walk the teams out onto the pitch before the game and will parade his PDC championship at half time.
Season Preview
Last season, Warrington Wolves finished runners up to Wigan Warriors in the Challenge cup final.
Warrington finished third in the Super League and suffered defeat in the Super League Grand Final semi-finals.
Fitzpatrick believes Warrington’s previous season can help them improve this time around.
“There was lots of learning last year with a young squad, they stepped up. They will be a lot better with the experience.
“We just want to improve. We aren’t going to make any bold claim that we are going to win this or this.’’
Warrington Wolves return to Super League action this weekend, when they take on Huddersfield Giants on Sunday.
