With relegation candidates Everton set to face off against rivals and title-chasers Liverpool, here’s a list of the top ten goals scored in the derby between these two sides in the premier league.

Number Ten – Steven Gerrard, 2012 (Liverpool 3-0 Everton)

Gerrard has plenty of great moments against Everton, but this goal was special.

After a defensive error, the ball landed to Gerrard on the edge of the box, before Gerrard chipped the goalkeeper with his left foot for the first of his hattrick.

Number 9 – Mikel Arteta, 2010 (Everton 2-0 Liverpool)

This goal set the tone as Everton defeated Liverpool.

The ball fell to the edge of the box after a corner before Arteta rifled it past Reina with tremendous power.

Number 8 – Richarlison, 2021 (Liverpool 0-2 Everton)

Maybe not the flashiest goal, but Richarlison’s early strike did help Everton to end their 24-game winless run.

Richarlison was played through by James Rodriguez, before slotting it into the bottom left corner.

Danny Murphy’s second-half screamer won Liverpool the game.

Gary McAllister’s last-minute strike saw Liverpool take this derby.

McAllister was on the free-kick from 35 yards out, and decided to catch the keeper out at the near post, curling a beauty into the bottom left.

He skipped past two challenges, cut onto his right before unleashing a curler into the top right.

In the first minute of the game, Daccourt scored a beauty for the Toffees.

The ball fell to the midfielder from 30 yards out, before he controlled it and half-volleyed the ball into the top left corner.

Luis Suarez had no shortage of Merseyside derby moments.

This freekick from 30 yards out saw him curl the ball around the wall, into the bottom right corner.

Number 1 – Phil Jagielka, 2014 (Liverpool 1-1 Everton)

It is hard to look past Phil Jageilka’s late equalizer for Everton at Anfield as the best goal in a Premier League Merseyside derby.

As the ball was cleared from the box, Jagielka stepped on to the ball from 30 yards out, and half-volleyed the ball into the top right corner.
