A fantastic week so far for MerseySportLive’s racing experts, deserving of that title as they have gone 4/4 so far this week on NAP’s delivering several winners.

A bolster weekend of action starts today with six meetings across the UK and Ireland as well as the Breeders cup starting this evening.

For today, we are focusing on the British and Irish racing. For a Breeders Cup preview and a few tips CLICK HERE.

A plethora of choices for National Hunt fans today with meetings at Down Royal, Uttoxeter and Wetherby. The seven-race cards at Down Royal and Uttoxeter start a little after 12:30, with the six races at Wetherby due to start at 13:20.

On the flats today we have the first ever Group One on the all-weather track at Newcastle. This comes as a reschedule after Doncaster Races being abandoned on Saturday. The feature, Vertem Futurity Trophy Stakes heads the bill at 18:00 with short priced favourite for jockey Harry Bentley.

Other Flat meetings today include eight races from Newmarket and a further eight from Ireland on Dundalk’s polytrack.

My tips for today are –

NAP – Summerville Boy – 14:40, Uttoxeter

Cheltenham Festival winner over hurdles will try over fences now in this Beginners Chase. Was sixth in his last appearance in a red-hot Irish Champion hurdle, stayed on very strongly around some classy horses. Trainer – Tom George, had a big winner yesterday with Black Op by an impressive 15 lengths, stable mate Summerville Boy is a serious contender in this race.

NB – Zeb Spirit – 14:30, Wetherby

Olly Murphy’s horse fell last time out when in the lead over the last flight but I think this can be discounted. With Gavin Sheehan on board today, he will have power in abundance as this horse really has a turn of foot. With the hood added for the three-year-old, it should aid his cause.

Each-way – Trappist Monk – 14:55, Down Royal

This horse is a massive price because of Samcro heading the market as an odd-on shot. He has the credentials to be a classy chaser and stayed on nicely to win last time out at Kilbeggan. Noel Mead, Sean Flanagan and Patricia Hunt combination worth a mention after PWC Champion Chase win at Gowran Park last month with Snow Falcon.
