Liverpool’s Darren Till finds success in his middleweight debut, beating Kelvin Gastelum by split decision at UFC 244.
The judges scorecards read (30-27 Gastelum, 30-27 Till and 29-28 Till) to see the Liverpudlian earn his sixth UFC win.
Unexpectedly, Till successfully kept Gastelum at bay and landed the harder strikes, with the American failing to land anything significant and the Englishman being awarded as the rightful victor.

The UFC 244 event at Madison Square Garden was the biggest of the year for the organisation.
Also on the card, the main event for the BMF title between Jorge Masvidal and Nate Diaz ended in a bitter way, with the doctor stopping the fight after the third round due to a cut that formed over Nate Diaz’s eye.
Both men have said they want to re-run the fight in the near future.
There were also a multitude of impressive knockouts with both Kevin Lee and Edmen Shahbazyan picking up sensational head kick finishes.
In conclusion, the event was special and one that has set Darren Till back on the right track to UFC glory.
