Israel Folau has made it into the papers yet again for another comment regarding the bush fires and droughts in Australia.
Folau said: “Look how rapid these bush fires, these droughts, all these things have come in a short period of time, do you think it’s a coincidence or not? God is speaking to you guys – Australia, you need to repent and take these laws and turn it back into following what is right by God.”
The Australian international’s views became apparent back in 2018 when he was asked “plan for homosexuals” from an Instagram follower which he replied back with “Hell.. unless they repent of their sins and turn to God.”
Folau has not been shy of reappearing in the news for his opinions and has made appearance again that sparked a reaction from the Australian Prime Minister.
Scott Morrison (Prime Minister of Australia) has described Folau’s comments as “Appallingly insensitive”
He said in an interview on Monday: “They were appalling comments and he is a free citizen, he can say whatever he likes”
The 30 year old is currently fighting against the termination of his contract for the Wallabies.
