A productive week for MerseySportLive’s Racing team continues as Sheldon’s NB landed at 7/2 yesterday, in the form of Noble Behest at Chelmsford.
Also, our Betfair Chase preview podcast is out now! Toby, Paul and I look at all the races on Haydock’s card this Saturday.
Today’s Racing comes from Ascot, Catterick and Ffos Las for jumps and down flat meetings on the all-weather tracks at Dundalk and Newcastle.
The first of the two-day meeting at Ascot, includes the Sky Sports Novices’ chase getting the card underway at 13:00. Stablemates Birchdale and Angels Breath are set to duel for favouritism.
Dundalk and Newcastle are set to start later this afternoon with Catterick being the earliest starter at 12:15, followed by Ascot then Ffos Las at 13:10.
Here are my tips for today:
NAP: Heavenly Promised, 13:10 @ Ffos Las
Has rose 13lbs for his last two wins, which have been very impressive. Trainer Fergal O’Brien is still running at a 25% strike rate also is jockey Conner Brace, last time out it was a perfect performance when 5/6 fav at Uttoxeter, expected to win off this mark today.
NB: Beni Light, 14:50 @ Ffos Las
Only beaten three-quarters of a length by Heavenly Promised last time out when giving up over a stone to him. Really progressive horse for David Rees and inform Richard Patrick takes to the saddle after winning the BetVictor Gold Cup on Saturday aboard Happy Diva.
Each-Way: Diplomate Sivola, 15:15 @ Ascot
Tipped this horse up on the Podcast for a race at Haydock on Saturday but he comes here instead. Again, I’m picking a horse Owned and Ridden by the great David Maxwell. This horse has a lot of solid form, carries 11st 6lbs off a rating of 134 against some good horses but I think he will go well and have every chance at a really good price.
