Lucas Digne has signed a new contract that will keep him at Everton until June 2025.

The left-back was previously with other high-profile clubs such as Paris Saint-Germain and AS Roma.

He arrived from Barcelona in 2018 for an estimated £18 million.

Digne has so far appeared 97 times, scoring five goals and 19 assists.

The French international has made 34 appearances for his country since his debut in 2014 and was part of the team who were runners-up to Portugal in the previous European Championships which was also held by his native country.

The left-back has also announced the motivation behind his extended stay was the Blues‘ big ambition.

With a number of trophies already won with PSG and Barcelona the 27-year-old is convinced Everton boast the manager, talent and infrastructure to add to his already impressive trophy haul.

Speaking to EvertonFC.com Digne said: “The fans made me feel at home from the beginning, they showed me big love and created a song for me”.

“It is something I really appreciate and it is very important to me to keep the stability. We have a big project with the club and can reach something very good at the end of the season and for the next few years”.

“I want to play in Europe and Everton is the best place to do that. I have seen the progress every year since joining the club, we are building a strong team.

“When you sign for Everton, it is like an amazing wedding. You just have to do your best everyday to show Evertonians the love you have for them.

“That is what I do. I want to show them what they give me and it is just amazing. It was clear in my mind that I want to continue with Everton.”

Digne has been consistently involved so far playing 21 times in all competitions this season.
