As the 2021 Bennett’s British Superbike championship edges closer, Brad Jones is optimistic for his debut season with PR Racing BMW, despite facing new challenges.
Preparations for the 2021 season are well under way with the first round being held at Oulton Park, Cheshire on the 29th-31st of May.

Jones faces his maiden season riding the BMW M1000RR after joining the team in December. This has forced the #20 rider to consider a different approach.
“Lots of cycling as per usual but this winter I’ve been building in some more strength work with my PT so I am ready and strong to hold on to and manage that bit of extra power and weight this season.
“Covid has affected a few things but that’s the same for everyone. Of course I can’t be at the gym but I’ve now got some good enough stuff at home to overcome that. Also, I would have been on the bike by now but of course that hasn’t happened yet.”
The 23-year-old has set some achievable targets for the opening weekend where he hopes to build momentum for the rest of the season.
“My goals for the season firstly are to get comfortable on the bike in testing, get the first round under my belt and finish all the races there. From then I can see where I am at set some realistic goals moving forward.
We can’t wait to get to grips with the new @bmwmotorraduk M1000RR

“For me this season will be very different, I will have to take a different approach to it compared to Supersport. I have got to be like a big sponge, take everything in, listen and adapt.”
There is no doubt that Jones is relishing the challenges the new season brings and is looking forward to being back in the paddock amongst the atmosphere that race weekend brings.
“I feel ready to go now! I am looking forward to seeing the spectators again also!”
