England seam bowler James Anderson has missed Lancashire’s LV Insurance County Championship fixture away at Kent today due to a tight calf.
“Anderson will continue to be assessed by the ECB and Lancashire medical teams”, a statement confirmed yesterday.
England’s all-time leading wicket-taker missed the majority of the 2019 English summer due to a calf injury. Despite making a partial recovery, Anderson lasted just four overs of England’s first Ashes Test against Australia at Edgbaston.
England are hoping that the Burnley-born seamer will be able to return in time for England’s test summer. They play New Zealand in a two-match series in June, before welcoming Virat Kohli’s India, later this summer.
Lancashire are also without Liam Livingstone, who is undergoing a ten-day quarantining period, following his return from the Indian Premier League. http:///merseysportlive.co.uk/2021/04/21/livingstone-pulls-out-of-ipl/
