Everton will travel to Old Trafford tomorrow (Saturday) as they next face Manchester United.
The Blues are coming off a 2-0 win over Norwich City and will be looking to build on this, but manager Rafael Benitez knows his side are in for a tough game.
“They have so many good players that can make a difference,” he told today’s media conference.
“For me, it’s just to concentrate on doing well, to be sure we can present a team that can compete and try to get the three points that’s it.”
As ever, Cristiano Ronaldo is the danger man for his side and the 36-year-old is showing no signs of slowing down.
The Portuguese star has netted five goals in five games since his return to Old Trafford, including the Champions League winner over Villareal on Wednesday.
Benitez was asked how he would stop Ronaldo to which he emphasised the quality of United’s squad.
“I think Cristiano is a great professional.
“With his age he is doing really well so we have to keep an eye on him but we have to keep an eye on the rest of the team.
“I said before they have so many good players and anyone can make the difference.
“We have to stay concentrated from the first minute until the last minute.”
Benitez also reflected on how the English game has changed since he was last on Merseyside, adding: “I think more or less I would say the style.
“I think a lot of people want to play from the back and then they talk about possession.
“Maybe more people realise that it is not a big issue that possession is just how many goals you can score, how many chances you create and things like that.”
Everton currently sit on the same points tall as their opponents for the weekend and a win over United would springboard them into the top four.
