Harvey Elliott praised the physio team in Merseyside for his triumphant return to the side against Cardiff City (on February 6).
Speaking to ITV after the game, he said: “The list goes on. One man most important was Joe Lewis, one of the physios.”
“He took me in the early hours of the morning and didn’t finish until late at night.”
“He got me back strong again. The list could go on.”
Elliott was among the Liverpool affray on Sunday as a substitute for Naby Keita.
The first half of the tie was a stalemate, missing the attacking prowess of AFCON final stars Mane and Salah.
Ultimately, the early kick off was crying out for some changes in the second half.
Alongside Luis Diaz, Elliott returned onto Anfield grass to a warm reception and applause from the Liverpool fans.
The impact was immediate and provided more attacking options that were limited in the first half.
Elliott scored the third goal of the game with an impressive finish via an Andy Robertson cross.
Arguably scoring the best goal of the game, and his first for Liverpool, it set the precedent for the rest of the season.
It was a miracle altogether, returning to the pitch after his horrific ankle dislocation at the hands of Leeds player Pascal Struijk.

Elliott’s career so far
The boyhood Liverpool fan, began his career at Fulham, after academy spells with Queens Park Rangers.
After Fulham were relegated from the Premier League, Elliott secured his dream move to Liverpool on the 28th July 2019.
Wearing the number 67 shirt, he already wrote himself into the Liverpool history books.
He became the youngest player to ever start for the club, at 16 years and 174 days old against MK Dons.
His journey continued, making his league debut as a substitute for Salah in the dying minutes against Sheffield United in January 2020.
Elliott’s loan spell
To develop his career further, he joined Blackburn Rovers on loan for the 2020-21 season.
He scored his first goal in professional football, in a 4-0 away win against Coventry City.
Ending the season with 7 goals and 11 assists for the Rovers, he was nominated for the EFL Young Player of the Season.
When returning to Liverpool, the 18-year-old signed a new 5-year contract with the club.
The intention was clear that he would be a vocal point of Klopp’s plans.
Progressively, he made his Premier League debut as a starter against Burnley in Liverpool’s 2-0 win in August.
The momentum continued week by week as he also started in a huge clash against Chelsea.
The Injury
Starting the season strongly, things couldn’t look better for the exciting midfielder.
The next fixture at Elland Road scathed the memory of many Liverpool fans that afternoon.
An away game which should have been remembered for Mohamed Salah, scoring his 100th Premier League goal.
Sadly, it was overshadowed by the rising star, Elliott’s injury.
Elliott required surgery and was essentially written off for the remainder of the season.
Post Injury
Meanwhile, Elliott was recovering behind the scenes, to prepare for a heroic return at some point.
Four months later, the 18-year old returned to training on January 18th 2022.

It was a heroic return to the first team, but Liverpool are expected to be cautious with Elliott.
His career has only just begun and in the months to come, will be instrumental toΒ Liverpool’s season.
