Having lost the reverse fixture in November, Everton host Wolves on Sunday, in what Frank Lampard has described as a tough game.
With a third of the season left points are there to be won to get Everton up the table.
Lampard has confirmed the return of fan favourites, Demarai Gray and Ben Godfrey.
Since his arrival in December Lampard has said that the Goodison crowd has been pivotal.
The Wolves game will be a real test for the Blues and Lampard said the fans have their big part to play in the relegation battle cause.
He said, “The fans are important, and it has been a big pleasure for me to have experienced it.
“We will need the help of the fans, but I don’t think I even need to rally cry them. I can do, but at the same time, they will turn up because they understand their importance” he said.
“The home crowd have given the team energy and legs. Clearly, it is something that has given us a boost compared to away from home.”
Everton’s away form has been abysmal, having just won one game all season. The most recent loss came in a 5-0 defeat at Tottenham.
Lampard says Wolves deserve their security in the top half of the table.
“We have to think about Wolves and give them the due respect that their team and season deserves,” he said
“Wolves are positioned in the table where they deserve to be.”
Lampard also paid homage to the direction Wolves have taken behind the scenes.
“Teams that can perform well, like Wolves, is down to consistency. Yes, they changed manager, but there is a consistency in how they play.
“There is consistency in their idea of recruitment. If you put together that formula, it always brings something positive.”
A lesson perhaps for the Everton board.
