Michael van Gerwen believes Michael Smith deserved more support in his home county of Merseyside in night six of the Premier League.

“The Green Machine” saw off the current World Champion with a 6-4 victory in the final, becoming the first player to win three consecutive nights in the Premier League.

Speaking after the match, Michael van Gerwen told us: “From the second half of the game I think [Smith] was the crowd favourite, but I think he deserves a bit more support over here.”
