FC St Helens have announced the signings of Brendan O’Brien, Nathan Carnell and Josh Hall.
O’Brien arrives from Runcorn Town, having appeared just twice for one of the NWCFL Division One North’s mid-table teams.
The mecurial midfielder scored a sublime header on his Runcorn debut against one of his former clubs, Ashton Town, helping them to an impressive 4-2 win on the road.
After a short-lived, but successful spell at ‘Town’, O’Brien could be a valuable asset to FC St Helens’ promotion hopes.
The signing of Carnell from Premier Division Burscough also provides FC St Helens with a huge boost. He appeared in 19 matches for the club in the division higher, with 16 of those appearances in the league and 18 starts in total.
A defender by trade, Carnell has played a part in a handful of clean sheets for his previous club and will be a welcome addition when it comes to solidifying the Stripes’ backline.
Hall’s arrival from Garstang is sure to breathe further optimism into what has already been an excellent season. Hall scored 28 goals in 21 appearances for Burscough Dynamo last season – before making the switch to Garstang.
In five months at FC St Helens’ fellow NWCFL Division One North club, Hall took to life there like a duck to water – accumulating a total of 21 goals and assists from 17 appearances – including 14 goals, one of which came against his new club, last month – as he looks to bolster their already red-hot forwardline.
