Burscough FC have appointed David Dempsey as their new first-team manager.
The club have been searching for a permanent coach since Richard Brodie’s departure in early September and, chairman Paul Gilchrist is convinced Dempsey is the right man for the job.
The former Clitheroe boss says he needs to instil a winning mentality with his new players.
Burscough have struggled so far this season, and are currently 22nd in the North West Counties Football League Premier Division after being thrashed 5-0 at home in their last outing against Kendal Town.
However, Dempsey is confident of improving the team’s fortunes as they make the trip to Ramsbottom United on Saturday.
