A former Warrington Rugby League player who is now a sports academic says good coaching is at the heart of keeping children safe in the sport of rugby union.
Graeme Close, is now a professor at Liverpool John Moores University and consultant to some of the world’s leading sporting organisations.
The sport has come under fire in as a report published by the University of Warwick which went as far as to say that poor coaching is a form of “child abuse”.
