A former Warrington Rugby League player who is now a sports academic says good coaching is at the heart of keeping children safe in the sport of rugby union.
Graeme Close is now a Liverpool John Moores University professor and a consultant to some of the world’s leading sporting organisations, including England Rugby.
The sport has come under fire after a report published by the University of Warwick went as far as to say that Rugby is a form of “child abuse” and should be banned in schools.
