Everton manager Sean Dyche has backed the use of VAR saying “the stats suggest it does get things right more often than not”.
Dyche spoke out amid the controversy around the Everton clash with Nottingham Forest on Sunday.
Forest issued strong statements on three penalty decisions which did not go there way.
Dyche said: “I think the idea (Of VAR) taking away the Forest situation was to tidy up as many decisions as possible, statistically it is showing that it is doing.
“If it goes for you, you’re having it. If it goes against you, you’re not.”
Everton have experienced decisions against them this season but Dyche praised VAR, also calling for it to be speeded up.
“Mostly for the greater good of it, as long as they keep learning and speeding it up, I still think it’s a good thing for the outcomes of games.”
Dyche said decisions need to be made and that the VAR system remains the best way to do it.
“There has to be some form on getting these decisions right and they’re doing the best they can with a better way of doing it currently with VAR.
“Will it stay or go will be a debate going forwards.”
