Saturday marks the last Merseyside derby at Goodison Park when leaders Liverpool visit their struggling rivals, Everton.
There have been 244 meetings between the teams since they first met in 1894, with Liverpool just having the edge over their neighbours on 99 wins.
Their rivals sit on 68 wins in all competitions and there has been 77 draws between the two teams.
The visitors will be hoping to get their 100th win over the Toffees and put them in a better position at the top of the table after dropping points against Newcastle midweek.
Everton, on the other hand, have struggled the past few weeks but a 4-0 win on Wednesday night against fellow strugglers Wolves has given them an extra boost ahead of the game.
The Merseyside derby is enshrined in history and there have been many legendary players that have starred in this fixture, but who stands out?
Ian Rush
The Welshman is the all time top scorer in this fixture, scoring a total of 25 in all competitions against Everton.
He represented Liverpool from 1980 up until 1996 after coming back from a brief spell at Juventus. He was a constant nightmare for Evertonians during this time period.
In 1982 the forward put four past Everton in a 5-0 drubbing at Goodison Park – he really is a legend in this fixture.
Dixie Dean
The most historical on the list but certainly still one of the most influential players to ever play in the derby.
Dixie Dean scored two hat tricks against Liverpool in 1928 and 1931 and to this day remains the last Everton player to net three goals in this fixture. Dean is also the all time top derby scorer in the league, sitting on 18 goals.
Steven Gerrard
Arguably the best Liverpool player in modern times, Steven Gerrard was Liverpool captain for over 10 years and he is another star who thrived in this fixture.
The Scouser scored nine goals against Everton. Eight of these were in the Premier League, making him the top scorer in this fixture in the competition. He is the last player to score a hat trick in the encounter – he did this at Anfield in 2002.
Tim Cahill
The Australian is the leading goal scorer for Everton from overseas, bagging five goals in a period both teams struggled.
Cahill is probably the last Everton player to really terrorise Liverpool in recent years. In 2008, Cahill scored a late equaliser at Anfield making him the first player since Dixie Dean to score for Everton in three Anfield derbies.
Robbie Fowler
Another Liverpool legend and one who loved playing against Everton. The local lad scored six goals during his two spells at the club, all in the Premier League. When he was just 18 years old he scored the winning goal at Anfield in what was the last derby Liverpool won for some time before Everton went on a period of success.
Neville Southall
If it wasn’t for this man in the ’80s, Ian Rush may have scored 20 more goals against The Toffees. The keeper to this day holds the record for the most appearances in the fixture (41) as well as the record for most clean sheets (15).
