Liverpool UFC star Paddy Pimblett says there is no such thing as losing as he aims to beat Michael Chandler at UFC 318 on Saturday night.

Pimblett features in the co–main event of UFC 318 against Chandler in Miami on Saturday after a long-awaited return since his last fight in July.

The Merseyside fighter has become a fan favourite in the UFC for his electric finishes in the cage and confidence on the mic.

Since his UFC debut in 2021 he has won all six fights finishing four of his last six opponents by knockout or submission, three of which were in round 1.

Currently, this places ‘The baddy’ 12th in the UFC lightweight rankings.

He spoke on his motivation for this fight with ESPN:

“I want to come and take rank 7 off Michael. That’s the motivation and I want to stop getting called a prospect and start getting called a contender, the goal is always to become world champion.

“And obviously the extra motivation is my babies, I got to put food on the table for them and if I lose, I won’t be getting anywhere near as much so there is no such thing as losing.”

Paddy “the Baddy” finished Bobby Green via an armbar submission in round one of his last bout and has predicted he’ll make easy work again of his opponent on Saturday night.

“I think anywhere this fights goes I am going to win to be honest.

“The only way I lose here is if I get hit by a big crazy wild shot on the chin and as you all know scousers don’t get knocked out.”

Paddy’s opponent Michael Chandler is currently on a two fight losing streak losing by decision against former lightweight champions Charles Oliveira and Dustin Poirier and needs to get back to winning ways if he is going to get another title shot.

The cage walks are scheduled for approximately 5am BST with subject to change.
