Yerry Mina remains hopeful of being passed fit to face Brighton this weekend, after the defender missed yesterday morning’s training session at Finch Farm as he attempts to recover from a knee injury.
The injury occurred last weekend in the blues’ 2-0 victory against West Ham in the closing stages of the game.
So far Mina has started in every game for Everton this season, and he is looking to maintain consistency as he hopes to be fit enough to play.
However, earlier today Everton boss Marco Silva gave an update on Mina’s injury. He stated;
“Not so good, not so good at the moment. He’s not seriously injured but he is not ready to work with the team in a full session.”
It seems as though doubts over Mina starting could worsen, with only two days to go until game day, Mina is not ready to train with the rest of the team.
It is more than likely he won’t be starting for Silva’s 11 man line up, however as Silva suggested, the injury is not serious, so there is a slight possibility that he could play.
