Marine welcome Lancaster City to the Travel Arena tomorrow with just five points separating them in the Northern Premier League.
The Mariners are looking to bounce back from Tuesday’s 2-1 defeat to Macclesfield, which ended their 12-match unbeaten run in all competitions.
Manager Neil Young has pointed to a hectic run of fixtures as one reason behind the Mariners’ third loss of the season but is not using that as an excuse.
He said: “I thought the league and cup schedule was always going to bite us and I think we just ran out steam.
“But you also have to say our opponents were very good on the night.”
And he is expecting another tough game tomorrow despite their opponents poor run of form, which includes a 2-1 loss to Workington last time out.
Young said: ““It’s a different type of game, more physical. We can’t throw away what we’ve done in 12 games. We go back, look at it, look at the areas we need to do better.”
Next Match…
It's 5th Vs 15th as Lancaster City head down the M6 to visit a Marine side eager to bounce back and kickstart another unbeaten run. A win keeps us in the playoff spots.
