The international break has halted the Women’s Super League this weekend, with many jetting off around the world to represent their nations; Liverpool and Everton players will be swapping the Red and Blue for international colours.

European players take part in the UEFA Nations League, whilst those Down Under have started their qualifying campaign for the Olympics.

Here are the Merseyside players to keep tabs on:

Clare Wheeler (Everton)

The Aussie has already played her first game of the break, playing the full ninety minutes in the 2-0 victory over Iran. The midfielder will be in action again on Sunday 29th October as Australia travel to the Philippines, and will don the yellow and green strip once more on Wednesday 1st November as ‘The Matildas’ host Chinese Taipei in their third qualifying fixture.

Teagan Micah (Liverpool)

Wheeler’s team mate, Teagan Micah also played the full ninety minutes against Iran, keeping a clean sheet in Perth. The 26-year-old will also be in action against Philippines and Chinese Taipei.

Fuka Nagano (Liverpool)

Fuka Nagano also competed in the qualifiers for the 2024 games, as the Japanese international was substituted on in the 52nd minute as the ‘Nadeshiko Japan’ cruised to a 7-0 victory against India in the preliminary rounds.

Aurora Galli (Everton)

From the Blue of Everton to the Blue of Italy, Aurora Galli suffered defeat at home to Spain. Italy also face Sweden on Tuesday 31st October, where she will come up against two of her Toffees teammates.

Nathalie Bjorn and Hanna Bennison (Everton)

The Swedish duo helped secure a 1-0 victory over Switzerland face a tough tie on Friday and now face teammate Galli an exciting prospect for Evertonians as Bennison and Galli both operate in the middle of the field at Walton Hall Park under Brian Sorensen.

Katrine Veje, Nicoline Sorensen, Karen Holmgaard, and Karoline Olesen (Everton)

The Everton quartet contingent being called up for Denmark’s Nations League fixtures. After the 1-0 Victory over Iceland, they now hope to slay the Welsh dragon on Tuesday.

Missy Bo Kearns (Liverpool)

Closer to home, Reds midfielder Missy Bo Kearns captained England Under-23s in their European League stalemate against Italy, playing 73 minutes. The young Lionesses host Portugal on Monday.

Justine Vanhaevermaet (Everton)

She was on the wrong end of Belgium’s 1-0 defeat to England. The two teams face each other again on Tuesday.

Katja Snoeijs (Everton)

The Striker, recently returned to fitness following an injury that kept her out of the opening fixtures of the WSL. The Netherlands thrashed Scotland 4-0 on Friday. The reverse fixture is on on Tuesday.

Sofie Lundgaard (Liverpool)

The youngster made the starting eleven for Denmark’s Under-23s, playing 78 minutes as they fell to a 4-1 defeat to Spain.

Courtney Brosnan, Megan Campbell, Heather Payne (Everton)

The Republic of Ireland trio make the trip to Albania, after the convincing 5-1 victory in the home leg.
