Lunt is a member of the Wirral Athletics Club and recently signed for Blue Carpet Sports Management.

Across the 2024 season, he achieved eight 1st place finishes across all competitions, with various events competed in.

He specialises in the 400m hurdles event but also competed in the 400m, 200m and 60m, notably placing 1st in both 60m events.

The competition takes place on the 10-11th May with the UKA setting an objective for all relay squads to qualify for the World Championships in Tokyo later this year.

The World Athletics Relay 2025 will be used to develop prospects and get them on track ahead of the LA games.

Darren Campbell, Head of Sprints, Hurdles and Relays at UK Athletics said: “After our brilliant achievement in Paris at the Olympic Games, I am excited for the continued success and development of the Great Britain and Northern Ireland relay teams at this Championship.

“It is great to see a team combining World and Olympic medallists alongside several developing athletes to strengthen the depth of relay runners across the GB&NI team.

“I am looking forward to the squad developing their relay skills whilst performing their very best on the world stage and looking to secure a qualification spot for the Tokyo World Championships later this year.”

At the Paris 2024 games Team GB & NI were the only Olympic programme to achieve a clean sweep of medals across all relay events.

UKA hope to continue this vein of form as we head into the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic cycle.

Before this competition, however, Team GB travel to Nanjing, China for the World Athletics Indoor Championships on the 21st-23rd March.
