After Paul got us back to winning ways yesterday with his Next Best, the tips are back around to me today with a good choice of jumps meetings.
There are 6 meetings today consisting of 2 flat and 4 jumps with the day’s racing heading off in Ireland at Clonmel at 11:40. The UK racing begins at 12:00 at Market Rasen. The next set of races get underway 10 minutes later at Leicester, shortly followed by Wincanton heading off at 12:20.The flat meetings conclude the day’s racing this evening at Kempton and Southwell.
Here are my tips for the day…
Nap- Timely Gift 14:50 Market Rasen
After missing the 2018 season, Tim Vaughan’s horse dropped in weight since returning in February. He used this to his advantage, winning on the same ground over 3m1f at Plumpton recently. Rising 7lbs due to the win shouldn’t be an issue for Alan Johns, as the horse has won off a higher mark back in 2017.
Next Best- Duc Kauto 15:15 Wincanton
A previous hurdle winner sent chasing by Colin Tizzard, winning on chase debut over almost 2m at track. An 8lbs rise could have been worse, taking the impressive win last time out into consideration. Expected to follow up with another victory
Each Way- Coopers Square 13:30 Wincanton
After showing signs of improvement last season claiming a number of chase victories over similar distances, Tom Weston would have been delighted with an encouraging reappearance at Uttoxeter last time out on heavy ground. A smart chaser who is handicapped very nicely, should go well today
