Everton FC have sacked manager Marco Silva after a poor run of results.

Last night’s 5-2 defeat at Anfield proved to be the final straw, as the Portuguese boss leaves the Blues in the bottom three, one point from safety.

A statement on the club’s social media account reads:

“Majority shareholder Farhad Moshiri, chairman Bill Kenwright and the board of directors would like to thank Marco for his service over the last 18 months and wish him well for the future.”

It has now been confirmed Blues legend, Duncan Ferguson, will take temporary charge as Everton prepare to face Chelsea at Goodison on Saturday.
