Tranmere Rovers have been forced to postpone tonight’s FA Cup third-round replay with Watford due to a waterlogged pitch.
Heavy rainfall throughout the weekend and Monday destroyed Rovers’ chances of hosting the fixture, despite the ground staff’s best efforts.
We must add that the ground staff have worked tirelessly, working all hours, over the past few days in attempt to get the game on but were unfortunately beaten by the weather.#TRFC #SWA https://t.co/cw4fF2eqqv

Heroics in Hertfordshire earlier this month gave Tranmere another go at progressing to the fourth round of the competition, as Paul Mullin’s 87th-minute penalty salvaged a well-deserved 3-3 draw against their Premier League opponents.
A win for Rovers would set-up a tie against either Wolves or Manchester United, after their goalless draw at Molineux.
A new date for the fixture will be announced in due course.
