Caldy RFC beat Sale FC 13-9 to clinch the National League 1 title to be promoted to the RFU Championship for the first time in their history. It was a tough game for Caldy but they prevailed late on. The 2nd team also featured before hand winning infatically 68-0.

St Helens fans bemoaned their side's 30-10 away defeat to Castleford Tigers at the weekend. Merseysportlive reporter Andy Lott spoke to some fans after the match.

Saturday 21st December 2019 – Robert McGurk would step on a rugby field for the last time. Then aged 20, McGurk would suffer an horrific anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injury that would end his career at such a young age after a robust tackle.

Liverpool St Helen’s powered past lowly Ormskirk to win 81-10 in the ADM Championship. On a sunny day in St Helen’s, Liverpool stamped their authority on their opponents from the get-go as they scored tries through Jake Dickinson (5) , Dave Cuncliffe (2), Connor Thompson (2), George Gates (2), Matty Johnson, and John Romano.

France ended their 12 year wait and have claimed their first Six Nations since 2010. It’s been a dramatic six weeks' of rugby with many standout performances across the teams.

The reigning champions St Helens face a potential giant-killing when they travel to the Recreation Ground in the sixth round of the Challenge Cup. They face a Whitehaven side who have only lost two of their last five games including an impressive win over York in the previous round of the cup.
