Widnes Vikings face Newcastle Thunder away from home on Monday night having lost consecutive league games. The Vikings sit fourth in the table after going unbeaten in their first four matches but were defeated by Barrow Raiders and York City Knights in the last two rounds.

The Warrington Wolves wheelchair rugby league team have entered the Super League for the first time this year. The side are currently competing with six of the best teams in the country with hopes of reaching the Grand Final aired on Sky Sports at the end of the season.

The reigning champions St Helens face a potential giant-killing when they travel to the Recreation Ground in the sixth round of the Challenge Cup. They face a Whitehaven side who have only lost two of their last five games including an impressive win over York in the previous round of the cup.

Widnes Vikings’ four game unbeaten run was ended by Barrow Raiders after a 24-34 loss at home. Despite a fast-paced start from Widnes, the away side had too much threat in attack.

Widnes Vikings face Leigh Centurions on Monday in the Challenge Cup fourth round at the Leigh Sports Village Stadium. The Vikings previously met the Centurions in the semi-final of the 1895 Cup in 2019, which turned out to be a feisty encounter.

St Helens head coach Kristian Woolf named an unchanged squad for their home clash this Friday night against Wakefield Trinity, whilst Warrington travel to the Stade Ernest Wallon this Saturday, hoping to continue their unbeaten run against Toulouse

North West sides were victorious in the opening round of matches in the Betfred Super League. Defending champions St Helens defeated Catalans Dragons 28-8 in a repeat of last year's grand final.

St Helens open the Super League season at home against title challengers Catalan Dragons tonight (February 10) in a grand final rematch. The Dragons won their first ever League Leaders' Shield last year but couldn’t achieve the double, as Saints edged a 12-10 victory at Old Trafford.
