Although Blackburn Hawks have two games in hand over Widnes, a win this weekend for Widnes would see them climb a place up the table, and possibly mark the turning point for their season.
In their last cup game, Widnes Wild were unfortunate not to collect any points, as they fell short in a hard-fought game against the Nottingham Lions, where the final result finished 6-5.
However, in the league, they have already looked to improve their recent form. In their last match, they managed an impressive 9-1 victory over Telford Tigers 2.

Head coach, Mike Clancy, admitted it was a good start to getting their season back on track. He said, “It wasn’t a must-win game, but it was a great opportunity for us to pull everything back together as a team.”
