Tranmere Rovers host in-form Fleetwood Town, as they look to build on Tuesday’s win away at Shrewsbury.
Rovers are still in the Sky Bet League One relegation places; however, victory last time out has strengthened their chances of beating the drop come May.
Corey Blackett-Taylor’s last minute heroics delighted Tranmere boss Micky Mellon, but he’s well aware that there is still and long way to go and a lot of work to do.
In his press conference today, he said: “It’s good that we got our reward for our good work, but now it is back to training and back to hard work, and that we hit these levels all of the time.
“There is still a lot of things that we need to improve, but we are a squad who have always worked hard and showed good character.
“I firmly believe if I keep trying to improve the players and keep working on the things that improve performance, then the results will come.
Rover’s opponents Fleetwood currently sit 7th in the League One table, but are only six points behind league leaders Rotherham, with a game in hand over the Millers, and many of the sides above them.
Town come into the game unbeaten in nine, but were on the wrong end of some last minute drama in mid-week.
Huyton boy, and Fleetwood boss, Joey Barton was left frustrated as Sunderland’s Max Power scored a 97th minute equaliser to deny the Cod Army a 6th successive league win.
Fleetwood won the reverse fixture 2-1 in November.
The danger men for Rover’s to keep a particular eye on, are forwards Paddy Madden and the returning Ched Evans who have 25 goals between them for the season.
The game is a 3pm kick off at Prenton Park, and tickets are available here.
