Everton fans have solidified their support for manager Rafa Benitez despite Sunday’s defeat to Manchester City.

With Everton struggling to put together any type of form, it begs the question if Benitez is the right man for the job.

Despite five defeats in six games and slipping to 11th, Everton fans seem to be in favour of keeping the former Reds manager at the helm.

One Everton fan said: “I don’t think there’s anybody out there at the moment who would come to Everton, so you’ve got to give the man a chance.”

Another fan said: “I think when he gets the players back and gets a few of his own players in, he’ll be alright.”

Everton are riddled with injuries, with key players Calvert Lewin and Abdoulaye Doucoure side-lined for the foreseeable future.

It’s hard for Benitez to get Everton to play his way when he has so many injuries.

The toffees had a good start to the season. However the decline in form has been clear to see since players started to get injured.

The Spaniard stated in a press conference recently: “You will see the real Everton in the second half of the season.”

He will be hoping that by January Everton will be back to full strength.

As well as potentially hinting that January arrivals could be imminent.

One fan agreed, saying: “I agree with that as long as he is able to get players in, I’ve got plenty of faith in Benitez”.

Strengthening in January was a common theme among the Everton faithful.

One supporter stated: “We need a new spine, a new centre half, centre mid and cover up front”.

If Benitez can manage to get some signings in January, coupled with his vital players returning. Things could certainly start to look up for Everton.

At the moment, Everton must ride this period out and try and get results where they can. It’s a tough and unfortunate period for the club.

Although it is encouraging to see Toffees fans remaining positive and backing Rafa.
