The news that Liverpool Football Club will be increasing tickets prices for next season will feel like a “slap in the face” for fans.

This is the opinion of The Anfield Wrap’s John Gibbons who, while not shocked by the two percent price rise, believes the amount of the increase is pointless.

This is the first ticket price increase for eight years and sees Liverpool follow suit with some other Premier Legue clubs who have also raised prices for next season.

However, while Gibbons appreciates the club needs to generate revenue to attract the world’s best players, he believes that the news may lead to further mistrust from those supporters who are already sceptical of the club’s owners Fenway Sports Group.
