After a barren spell on the site, it is about time we got ourselves back to winning ways.
Chepstow fell foul of the rain yesterday after 62mm of rain fell over Saturday night, leaving just the two jump meetings and an evening at Wolverhampton.
We begin in Leopardstown at 13:15 for a competitive seven-race card, including Grade 1 winning novice hurdler, Dortmund Park appearing in the 14:55 race.
It is a 14:00 start at the Yorkshire track of Wetherby, where both of my top bets for the day run. Find out who they are below.
The evening all-weather meeting is at Wolverhampton begins at 16:45. This officially is a race-clash with Wetherby, but the latter have put back their race by five minutes.
The feature race on the evening card is a brilliant Class 2 1m4f race, where Deal A Dollar and Sky Defender match up for the second time in 15 days.
So today, here are my tips for the day:
NAP – Main Fact – 16:15 Wetherby
Climbed up the weights, 19lb up since the turn of the year. Upped in class this time, but an average field gives an obvious form chance. Fergus Gillard’s valuable 7lb claim a bonus too.
NB – Spirit Of Hale – 16:45 Wetherby(Running at 16:50)
Up 11lb for latest wide-margin win at Sedgefield. Does handle it on heavy ground, so again a big chance. Sean Quinlan takes the ride once more for Jennie Candlish.
Each-Way – Alko Rouge – 4:30 Leopardstown
A short priced Mullins horse heads the market, but a solid third behind a subsequent winner at 4/11 last week. Noel McParlan takes 5lb off the top weight. Positive form was that he was 15l in the clear in an Irish Point before falling. A mile clear of Sandown Pertemps Qualifying winner, Go Whatever.
