More pressure was put onto Tranmere manager Mike Jackson as his side suffered another defeat, going down 1-0 to Morecambe at Prenton Park
Making six changes from Tuesday’s 4-0 defeat against Crawley, Tranmere made a bright start to the match creating quite a few chances in the first 20 minutes.
They also had a penalty shout turned away by referee Craig Hicks.
Morecambe also created chances in the first half and had their own penalty shout turned away.
It all meant that the score was level at 0-0 at the interval.
The second half was a much more quieter affair with very few chances created.
But that all changed in the 57th minute when Carlos Gomes-Mendes was brought down in the box which resulted in a spot kick to Morecambe.
It was converted by Adam Phillips to give the away side the lead.
Tranmere pushed for an equaliser but were unable to get it as they fell to yet another defeat meaning they’ve only won 1 of their last 5 matches, leaving them 18th in the table.
